U-Flyte’s Dr. Stephanie Keogh was among Irish delegates visiting the European Space Agency (ESA) ESRIN facilities in Rome on September 3rd to present and discuss projects on Earth Observation. Minister John Halligan, Minister of State for Training and Skills attended the event with Enterprise Ireland, Irish companies and research institutes involved in Earth Observation (EO) and Space activities.
A key objective of the meeting was to explore how Irish companies and research institutions can harness EO data in sectors such as agriculture, environmental monitoring and climate change.
During this visit to Rome the Minister also announced Maynooth University, in collaboration with ESRIN, will soon launch a €500,000 project that will engage stakeholders and public sector bodies to identify prototype services using EO data. For more information see here.
