Minister Humphreys joined the SFI and U-Flyte teams in Monaghan on Monday October 21st to learn about drone applications for the agricultural sector in Ireland. During her visit she also announced €25million in funding to support research infrastructure in Ireland. Maynooth University is among 6 projects to be awarded. Commenting on Maynooth’s project Tim McCarthy says “The National Autonomous Technologies Data Platform (NATDaP) will provide valuable open Autonomous Technology data (including driverless vehicles, A.I., robotics and drones) from collaborating Higher Education Institutes across Ireland (including the University College Cork, Maynooth University, NUI Galway and IT Tralee), which can be accessed by a much wider community, including researchers and industry collaborators”.
