The U-Flyte operations team is working alongside Gas Networks Ireland to assess the capability and usefulness of drone mounted sensors, together with latest machine learning algorithms, to carry out automated monitoring of these valuable infrastructure sites in the future. The U-Flyte team kicked off a series of planned operations in late October using various LiDAR, thermal, multi-spectral and RGB sensors, mounted on heavy-lift VTOL drones, to capture data over GNI’s facility in North Dublin.
